Le Chalet

This ski-inspired pop-up restaurant on the Selfridges rooftop is perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch. Almost every table allows for clear views of the London skyline (mainly the rides at Winter Wonderland at the moment) while you sit back with your blanket and pot of bubbling cheese. The Blue Cheese fondue with toasted garlic flutes is to die for. I have to admit I was apprehensive at the sound of that much blue cheese but it was mild and absolutely delicious. That was followed by the Buttermilk Chicken Schnitzel with blue cheese fondue and Cracked spelt “risotto” with wild mushrooms and pecorino. The chicken was a definite winner and the portion was huge. The risotto didn’t quite have the same review but that may be because spelt is more of an acquired taste. Although the food had its highs and lows, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming and very christmassy! 🙂
